How should I use and store the bar so it cleans well and lasts longer?

To use it, wet the hands or body with warm water, rub the bar directly on the skin or between the palms to build a lather, then wash and rinse thoroughly. For a full body wash, you can also glide the bar over a washcloth or your hands and apply the lather to the skin. Use just enough water to work up a lather; you do not need to hold the bar under running water. There is no need to scrub hard; the soap base does the cleaning, and the lather helps lift dirt away.

Storage makes a big difference with glycerin-containing bars. Glycerin attracts water, so if the bar sits in a puddle or on a wet surface, it can soften, become slimy, and dissolve faster. Keep it on a soap dish with drainage holes or a raised ribbed tray, away from the direct stream of water, and let it dry between uses. A dry bar lasts noticeably longer and stays firm.

Because this is a solid bar, it is easy to keep by a sink or pack in a travel bag for washing hands after outdoor play, kindergarten, or school. For young children, supervise washing so they do not put the bar in their mouth or rub soap into their eyes. If soap gets into the eyes, rinse with clean water. If the skin feels dry after washing in your household, a separate moisturizer after drying is a common addition to the routine.
