How should I store the loose leaf tea to keep it fresh and preserve its aroma?

Keep the leaves in an airtight container that blocks light, heat, moisture and strong odors. The original packaging is designed for this purpose, but a sealed glass jar or a ceramic tin works well. Store the container in a cool, dark place such as a pantry, cupboard or cellar; a temperature between 15 °C and 25 °C is ideal. Avoid placing the tea near stoves, windows with direct sunlight, or in the refrigerator unless you plan to use it within a few weeks, as condensation can introduce moisture. When the tea is exposed to air for long periods, the volatile aromatic compounds and polyphenols gradually degrade, leading to a loss of the fresh, grassy aroma and a milder flavor. Following these storage guidelines helps maintain the quality of the loose leaf for several months, ensuring each brew delivers the intended balance of baikhov green tea and hawthorn.
