Start with fresh, cold water and heat it to about 70-80°C, which is just below boiling. Using water that is too hot can extract bitter compounds from the green tea leaves.
Measure roughly one teaspoon (about 2 g) of tea per 200 ml of water; adjust to taste if you prefer a stronger or lighter cup.
Place the tea in an infuser or directly in the cup, pour the hot water over it, and let it steep for 1-2 minutes. Taste after the first minute; if you want a slightly stronger flavor, extend the steeping by another 30 seconds, but avoid going beyond 2-3 minutes as the tea can become astringent.
After steeping, remove the leaves or infuser. The tea can be enjoyed plain, or with a slice of lemon or a small amount of honey if desired, though the jasmine aroma is already balanced and may not need extra sweetening.
