How should I prepare and apply this basma powder?

SHAGUN GOLD basma is a finely milled plant powder, so it needs to be mixed with warm water to form a paste before use. Add water gradually and stir until the texture is smooth enough to spread through the hair without dripping. Because plant powders can stain skin, towels and surfaces, use gloves and protect the hairline, clothing and bathroom area before applying.

Apply the paste evenly to the sections you want to colour, making sure the hair is well covered from root to ends. Uneven application can lead to patchy depth, especially on grey, porous or previously coloured areas. Avoid the eye area and rinse immediately with plenty of water if the paste gets into the eyes.

Before colouring all your hair, do two checks. First, carry out a sensitivity test on a small area of skin to see whether your skin reacts. Second, do a strand test on a hidden section of hair, particularly if your hair is lightened, damaged, grey or chemically coloured. This shows how the powder behaves on your own hair and helps you decide whether to use basma alone or combine it with henna for a more balanced brown-to-dark result.
