Methylene blue stains skin, fabrics, and other porous materials very intensely and permanently. When handling the bottle, wear protective gloves and work over a protected surface, like a tray or absorbent paper. Use dedicated tools (droppers, pipettes) and avoid using containers or utensils you need for food. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use to prevent evaporation or contamination. Store it in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources, as light can degrade the dye over time. Always keep the solution out of reach of children and pets. If contact with skin occurs, wash immediately with soap and water; staining may fade gradually but can persist. For clothing, prompt rinsing with cold water may help, but stains are often difficult to remove completely.
