To prevent chips or scratches, always place the pyramid on a stable, flat surface, away from the edge of a desk or shelf. When moving it, hold it by the base rather than the tip, as the pointed top is the most fragile part. If you want to display it alongside other stones or objects, make sure they don't knock against it.
Shungite is relatively soft compared to many decorative stones, so it can be scratched by harder materials like quartz or metal.
