Use water that is just below boiling, around 90–95 °C, to avoid scorching the delicate flavonoids and tannins in the herb. Measure about 1–2 g (roughly one teaspoon) of the loose cut eyebright per 200 ml of water. Place the herb in a tea infuser or a fine mesh strainer to keep the particles separate from your cup.
Because the herb is loose cut, give it a longer steeping period than you would for a pre‑packed tea bag. A 5–10‑minute infusion is typical, but if you prefer a stronger flavor you may let it steep up to 15 minutes. Stir gently after the first minute to help release the soluble compounds.
After steeping, strain the liquid into your cup. You may add a touch of honey or a slice of lemon if you like, but keep in mind that the tea is intended as a gentle, plant‑based addition to your routine rather than a medical remedy.
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a chronic condition, or take medication, consult a qualified professional before use.
