Because this is a rich body cream, the easiest way to use it is after a shower or bath. Warm water softens the surface of the skin and makes it easier for a heavier texture to spread, so the cream glides on more smoothly and you need less of it.
Start by patting yourself dry with a towel instead of rubbing. Your skin should be clean and just slightly damp, not dripping wet. Take a small amount of the cream in your palm, warm it briefly between your hands, and massage it into the areas that tend to dry out first — shins, elbows, knees, and forearms. Use slow, circular movements and add a little more only where the skin still feels rough.
There is no fixed amount that works for everyone. The right quantity depends on how dry your skin is and how much surface you are covering. It is better to start with less and add more than to apply a thick layer that leaves the skin sticky. If the cream feels heavy for the first few minutes, that is normal for a rich formula; wait a little longer before getting dressed.
For very rough spots, you can use the cream once a day at first, usually in the evening, and continue for several days to see whether the texture becomes smoother. The product is meant for intact skin. Do not apply it to broken, irritated, or inflamed areas, and stop using it if any irritation appears.
