How should I apply this balm for the best results, and how often can I use it?

After shampooing, squeeze excess water from your hair so the balm can adhere properly rather than slide off. Dispense an amount roughly the size of a walnut for shoulder-length hair — adjust up or down for length and thickness. Distribute it mainly on the mid-lengths and ends where damage accumulates; if your scalp gets oily quickly, avoid the root area entirely. If your hair is coarse and lacks softness overall, you can work a very small amount closer to the roots, but start conservatively. Leave it on for 1–2 minutes while you finish your shower, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water until the hair feels clean, not slick. Because this is a rinse-out conditioner, not a mask, it is designed for frequent use — after every wash is fine for most people. If you notice buildup or heaviness, alternate with a lighter conditioner or reduce frequency to every other wash.

The volcanic black clay in the formula gives the balm a denser texture than typical light conditioners, so thorough rinsing matters more here. If you use the matching Kamchatka Volcanic Black Clay shampoo, the two are formulated to work in sequence: the shampoo cleanses without stripping, and the balm deposits the mineral complex and oils on the freshly cleaned surface. With any shampoo, make sure hair is fully wet before applying the balm; applying to barely-damp hair can lead to uneven distribution and patchy results.
