How you use this product is as important as how often you use it. The cream format is designed to spread evenly, so begin by applying it directly to the scalp and roots, not only to the hair length. Wet the hair completely before application; water helps the product distribute and prevents the scrub particles from dragging on dry skin.
Massage with the pads of your fingers in small circular movements. The formula contains SENSOCEL cellulose particles for gentle mechanical exfoliation, which means you should not press hard or use nails. Aggressive scrubbing can make the scalp sore and reduce the benefit of the product. If you feel a mild graininess, that is expected, but it should not feel like a sharp abrasive peel.
After massaging, leave the product on the scalp for the time stated on the label. If no time is printed, a few minutes is a common practice for shampoos with active ingredients. This contact time is part of the intended use because the formula is supposed to stay on the scalp for a short period. Rinse with lukewarm water and make sure all particles are rinsed out of the roots.
Do not pair this shampoo with other strong scalp exfoliants, such as facial scrubs, peeling solutions or clarifying treatment shampoos, on the same day. If your skin is sensitive, test the product on one area first and watch for a reaction. Stop use if redness, stinging or irritation appears. Apply conditioner only on the lengths if your hair needs it.
