Use the cream-balm on clean, dry body skin where you want extra softness and a protective feel. Apply a small amount first, especially on hands, elbows, knees or areas made rough by washing, cold weather or friction. Massage gently without rubbing hard; the aim is to leave the surface comfortably coated, not to scrub or stimulate already tender skin.
Because the formula contains petrolatum, mineral oil, lanolin, glycerin and plant oils, it is richer than a typical light lotion. For daytime use, a thin layer is usually more practical, particularly on hands if you need to touch fabrics, paper or screens soon afterwards. For very dry-feeling areas, it can be used when the skin will have time to absorb the emollient layer, such as after washing and drying the area thoroughly.
Avoid applying it too close to the eyes, mucous membranes or heavily damaged skin. If you are using it after a small scratch or everyday skin mishap, make sure the area is clean first and do not cover irritated skin with a thick layer if it feels hot, weeping or increasingly painful. If symptoms look unusual or worsen, seek appropriate advice.
