The gel is meant for local use on intact skin only. Spread a thin layer exactly where the area feels tender after a bump, strain or visible bruise, or where muscles feel stiff after physical effort; a thick layer is not needed because the texture is made for targeted application.
Because the freshwater sponge powder (badyaga) works through very fine natural silica needles that gently stimulate the skin and increase local microcirculation, the area will usually become red and feel active, warm or tingly. This is the expected short-term effect, not a sign that more product is required.
Use it as a limited-contact format: apply, leave it on for a short time, and then rinse it off. This differs from a rich cream left on the skin for hours, and is why many people prefer it for frequent, localized use after sport or household knocks.
Do not use it on wounds, irritated or very dry areas, and keep it away from eyes and mucous membranes. If your skin is reactive, start with a very small amount on a small patch; stop if the burning sensation feels too strong or irritation persists after rinsing.
