Because the pigment sits on the hair's surface and washes out gradually with each regular shampoo, most people find that using the tinted shampoo once every 7–14 days keeps the coppery warmth visible without buildup. On very porous or bleached hair the colour may fade faster, so a weekly rhythm can work better. On medium brown hair where the effect is already subtle, every 10–14 days is usually enough. Treat it as a tone-refresh step, not a daily cleanser — alternate with your usual sulphate-free or colour-care shampoo on non-tint days. If you notice the tone becoming too intense or slightly uneven, skip one cycle and return to your regular shampoo for a couple of washes; the excess pigment will rinse out naturally.
Leave-on time matters: the leaflet typically suggests 3–5 minutes. Start at the lower end (2–3 minutes) for the first few uses, especially on lighter or porous hair. You can extend by a minute each session until you hit your preferred intensity. Always follow with a conditioner or mask to seal the cuticle and slow colour loss.
