This scrub is intended for use 1–2 times per week — that frequency lets the sugar crystals and charcoal polish away dry, uneven surface cells without over-working the skin. Using a physical scrub daily generally does more harm than good, because the fresh skin underneath needs a few days between sessions.
A practical way to use it: apply to damp skin in the shower, massage in circular motions over rougher areas such as elbows, knees, legs and the back, then rinse thoroughly. The charcoal and black volcanic clay do their adsorbing work during application and rinsing, so there is no need to leave it on like a mask.
Timing within a routine matters more than most people expect. The scrub works particularly well:
Before body lotion or oil — moisturisers absorb more evenly on freshly exfoliated skin, so finishing with a lotion is a sensible habit even though the formula includes a vitamin complex to reduce that stripped feeling.
Before self-tanning — self-tanner clings to dead surface cells and develops patchily on rough spots; exfoliating a day before application gives a more even result.
After periods of dryness — for example after winter heating season or frequent shaving, when skin texture tends to become flaky and uneven.
If your skin is on the sensitive side, start with once a week and light pressure, and adjust based on how your skin responds over the following day.
