How much of this SPF 50 sunscreen should I apply and how often do I need to reapply it?

SPF values are measured using a specific amount of product per area of skin. In everyday practice, most people need to apply more than feels natural. A generous portion about the length of two fingers is a common rough guide for the face alone. Cover the hairline, ears, the sides of the face, and the jaw as well. If your neck is exposed, it needs its own layer.

Use this sunscreen as the last step of your morning skincare routine, after serum or moisturizer. Let earlier layers sink in for a minute or two first so the sunscreen spreads evenly rather than mixing with them. Rub it in until the film looks uniform. Because zinc oxide is a mineral filter, it does not need time to “activate” before sun exposure, but it can be displaced by sweat, rubbing, or touching your face.

  • Daily incidental exposure: one generous application in the morning is generally the base routine for a day spent mostly indoors or near windows.
  • Prolonged sun exposure: reapply every couple of hours, as well as after heavy sweating, swimming, or drying with a towel.
  • Amount: the tube is 30 ml. With full-face use and reapplication on outdoor days, it will run out quickly, which is normal for a facial sunscreen.
  • Makeup: if you wear foundation, allow the sunscreen to set before applying makeup over it.

For long days outdoors, combine it with shade, a hat, sunglasses, and clothing. Sunscreen is one part of sun protection, not a reason to stay out in direct sun all day without reapplying.
