Check the instructions on the packaging first, as they give the intended dilution. As a general starting point, add a few drops to about a litre of water. The exact amount depends on the size of your sauna or steam room, the heat level, and how strong you want the scent. Because the aromatic compounds evaporate quickly in heat, a small amount is enough to fill the space. It is easier to add more than to tone down an overpowering aroma, so begin with less and test the effect after a few minutes.
If you are using a ladle to pour water over the stones, you can put a few drops directly into the ladle and then fill it with water. For a steam room, mix the fragrance into a bowl of water and place it near the steam source. Never use the fragrance undiluted, as the source notes. If the scent feels too strong, you can briefly open the door to let out some steam or simply wait for it to dissipate. Over time, you will learn the right amount for your space.
