On bleached, highlighted, or very gray hair the pigment grabs more strongly and can persist longer; on darker or less porous hair it fades faster. Most people use it once a week or every other wash to maintain a cool pearl tone, but you can adjust: if the shade looks too intense, skip a few washes and use a regular shampoo instead. Because it’s not a permanent dye, there’s no regrowth line — the effect simply softens until you reapply.
