A typical body lotion is mostly water-based, which makes it light but sometimes insufficient for skin that feels tight after washing, during the heating season or after sun exposure. A body butter works the other way around: it is built on plant butters, so it leaves a more substantial, cushioned layer on the skin. This BISOU Mono Love product belongs to the butter category, but its texture is whipped — the airiness helps it glide and spread evenly instead of dragging like a dense balm, and it absorbs without leaving a sticky film.
Two components do the main work in the formula:
Shea butter supplies fatty acids (oleic, stearic) that help replenish the skin's lipid layer — the part of the skin barrier that keeps moisture in — which is why it eases the sensation of tightness.
Orange extract contributes bioflavonoids and vitamin C, ingredients valued in cosmetics for their antioxidant role, i.e. limiting the visible effects of environmental stress that can make skin look tired and uneven. It also defines the fresh citrus scent.
In practical terms, it suits people whose skin loses elasticity and comfort with a standard lotion — especially on legs, elbows and other dryness-prone zones — but who dislike the heaviness of classic solid balms.
