This oil is made for massage, not for everyday moisturising. Its plant-oil base helps your hands move smoothly over the skin and reduces friction, which is the main job of a massage oil. That matters on bigger areas such as the back, legs and shoulders, where a lotion can absorb too quickly and make longer strokes feel dry or sticky. A cream or lotion may be absorbed almost at once; an oil stays on the surface longer, so you can keep working without stopping to reapply often.
The second difference is the aromamassage side. The fresh apple fragrance is built into the experience: as you massage, the scent is released through body warmth and works through smell to create a lighter, brighter mood. A typical body lotion does not have that same sensory role.
The formula also leaves the skin surface feeling softer and more supple after the session, but that is a side effect of the oil layer, not its main purpose. If you mainly want a fast-absorbing daily moisturiser this may not be the right product; if you want smooth glide and a fruity atmosphere for a massage, it fits that purpose.
