How exactly do I use the flint stone for water?

Using the stone is straightforward. First, thoroughly rinse the flint with clean, cool water to remove any dust from packaging or transport. Place the rinsed stone into a clean container (like a glass jug, pitcher, or carafe) and fill it with your preferred water, such as filtered or boiled-and-cooled tap water. There is no specific ratio, but using the entire 250g package in 2-4 liters is a common starting point. Let the water stand at room temperature, ideally for 6-12 hours or overnight. Many users then remove the stone and store the infused water in the refrigerator, using it over the next 1-2 days for drinking, cooking, or brewing tea. The stone itself can be reused immediately in a fresh batch.

Key details to keep in mind:

  • Cleanliness is important. Rinse the stone every time before use and inspect it for any visible buildup. If deposits form, a soft brush under running water usually removes them.
  • The effect is subtle and builds over the standing period—it’s about infusion, not instant transformation.
  • Use a container that’s easy to clean and doesn’t retain strong odors (glass or ceramic is ideal).

This product is not a substitute for proper filtration if your water source has quality concerns, unusual odors, or may be microbiologically unsafe. In those cases, use appropriately treated water as your starting point.
