How does this tinting shampoo differ from permanent hair dye, and what kind of result can I expect on my current hair colour?

Victoria Beauty Tinting Shampoo Chocolate V20 is a semi-permanent direct-dye product, which means the colour pigments sit on the outer layer of the hair and partially penetrate the upper surface layers during application. Unlike permanent oxidative dyes, it does not contain peroxide or ammonia, so it cannot lighten your natural colour or create a permanent chemical change inside the hair shaft. The result is a warm dark brown with chocolate undertones that adds depth, shine and a more even-looking tone, especially on medium-brown to light-blonde bases. On darker hair the effect will be subtler — mainly a reflective gloss and slight tonal shift — while on very light or porous hair the pigment may deposit more intensely and appear richer than the swatch suggests.

The formula includes aloe vera to help the hair feel smoother and look glossier after colouring, and a UV filter to slow pigment fading from sun exposure. Because the colour washes out gradually over several shampoos (typically 4–12 washes depending on porosity, washing frequency and water temperature), there is no harsh regrowth line. For a predictable outcome, do a strand test first: apply a small amount to a hidden section, leave for the minimum recommended time, rinse and evaluate. Adjust the processing time on your full application based on that result — shorter for a sheer tint, longer for deeper saturation.
