How does this mask differ from a regular conditioner or balm?

A standard conditioner deposits a thin cationic film that detangles and adds slip for the next wash cycle. This mask contains a significantly higher proportion of oils — seven distinct ones — chosen to penetrate the cuticle layers and replenish the lipid mantle that protects each strand from moisture loss.
