How do I choose the right size for the LAUMA Medical Elastic Belt Extra, and what should the fit feel like?

The LAUMA Medical Elastic Belt Extra works only if it sits snugly around the lower back and abdomen without excessive pressure. Size 1 corresponds to the smallest waist circumference in this model range, but you should still compare your measurement with the brand’s size chart before ordering. Measure around the area where the belt will actually be worn, usually across the waist or lower abdominal area depending on your body shape and comfort.

When fitted correctly, the belt should feel supportive and evenly tight, not sharp, pinching or restrictive. It should cover the lumbar region and stay in place during normal movement without rolling down. You should be able to sit, stand and breathe normally while wearing it. If the belt shifts constantly, feels loose, or does not give any noticeable support, it may be too large. If it presses painfully, leaves deep marks, causes numbness, or makes breathing or sitting uncomfortable, it is likely too tight or incorrectly positioned.

The fastening allows the compression level to be adjusted to your body, so start with a moderate setting rather than the tightest possible one. The aim is gentle stabilisation and a feeling of extra hold, not immobilisation. If you have a diagnosed spinal condition, are pregnant, or have persistent pain, ask a doctor or physiotherapist how firmly and how long you should wear it.
