The piece is firm when you first put it in your mouth, which surprises many people. The key is to let it warm up before you chew hard. Place the gum on your tongue and hold it there for a few seconds, or start with slow, gentle chewing. Within a few seconds, the warmth of your mouth softens the beeswax and the gum becomes pliable and elastic.
Once it softens, you can chew it normally, but it behaves differently from regular gum. It does not dissolve or lose its texture; instead, it stays as a single, cohesive mass for a long time. Many people chew it for 20–30 minutes, but you can stop whenever you like. When you are done, wrap it in a tissue and throw it in the bin—it is not meant to be swallowed.
If the firmness bothers you, you can also warm the piece in your hand for a minute before putting it in your mouth. This is a common way to prepare resin-based chews. There is no need to bite down hard at the start; gentle pressure is enough. After a few minutes, the gum feels smooth and the resinous character becomes more noticeable.
This gum is often used after meals or during travel, when you want a long-lasting, sugar-free chew. It is not a substitute for brushing your teeth, but it can be a pleasant part of your daily routine.
