Use the gel as part of a short massage. Start with a small amount, especially the first time, because the warming effect can be intense. Spread it over the area with the palm or fingers and massage in gentle strokes until most of the gel is absorbed. For a larger area such as the back or thigh you may need more, but it is easier to add a little extra than to deal with an overly strong sensation from too much product.
Massage is not optional decoration: rubbing the gel into the skin is part of how it works. It spreads the formula and also helps the local area feel less tense. After applying the gel, wash your hands unless your hands are the part being massaged. Avoid the eye area and mucous membranes, and do not apply it to irritated, sunburned or broken skin.
Because the formula contains camphor, menthol and several essential oils, people with reactive skin should first test the gel on a small area and wait to see how the skin responds. If you notice redness, strong stinging or itching, stop using it and rinse the skin with water. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a chronic skin condition, or are under medical care, consult a specialist before using a warming massage product with essential oils. This gel is for external use only and is not intended to diagnose, treat or prevent any disease.
