How do I apply castor oil to eyebrows and lashes without getting it in my eyes?

Castor oil's thickness makes it stay where you put it, but the eye area requires care. Start with a clean face — remove all makeup and residue so the oil contacts hair, not product buildup. Dip a clean mascara spoolie (disposable or washed) or a cotton swab into the oil, then wipe off excess on the bottle neck; you want a barely visible coating on the tool. For brows, brush upward and outward following hair growth. For lashes, sweep from root to tip on the upper lashes only, keeping the tool away from the waterline and lower lash line. Do this at bedtime so the oil can condition overnight without interfering with daytime makeup. If oil migrates into the eye, rinse with lukewarm water; it's not dangerous but can blur vision temporarily. In the morning, cleanse the area with your usual face wash or a gentle micellar water. A 25 ml bottle lasts months for this use — one drop per session is plenty. If you notice any irritation, redness, or stinging, stop use and rinse thoroughly. Patch test behind the ear first if you have sensitive skin or a history of reactions to oils.
