Ice Dragon is a direct dye: it contains no ammonia, peroxide, or developers, so it doesn’t break disulfide bonds or further lift the cuticle. In that sense, it’s far gentler than permanent colour or even demi-permanent toners. The formula includes three care ingredients specifically chosen for lightened hair:
- Keratin — a protein that temporarily fills gaps in the cuticle, smoothing the surface so light reflects more evenly (less frizz, more shine).
- Vitamin E — an antioxidant that helps protect the hair’s lipid layer from oxidative stress during washing and styling.
- Linseed oil — rich in omega-3 fatty acids, it reduces the dry, straw-like feel common after bleaching and adds slip.
Timing after bleach: Freshly bleached hair is at its most porous and fragile. Waiting 48 hours (and ideally one gentle wash with a bond-repair shampoo) lets the cuticle settle slightly, giving a more even toner uptake and reducing the risk of over-deposit. If you must tone immediately, dilute heavily (1:3 with conditioner) and watch the clock — 3–5 minutes may be enough.
As with any hair cosmetic, do a patch test 48 hours before first use (apply a dab behind the ear, leave 24h, watch for irritation). Wear gloves, avoid eye contact, and rinse thoroughly if the product touches skin.
