Does this peppermint tea contain caffeine, and is it suitable in the evening?

This product is a herbal tea made from peppermint leaves, not from tea plant leaves such as black, green or white tea. Peppermint itself is naturally caffeine-free, so it is often chosen in the second half of the day or in the evening when someone wants a warm drink without the stimulating effect associated with regular tea or coffee.

Its flavour profile also makes it useful when you want something more aromatic than plain water but do not want a sweet drink. The menthol-containing essential oils give the infusion a cooling sensation and a fresh aftertaste, which is why peppermint is commonly chosen after meals or when you want to freshen the breath.

It can be included as part of a normal daily drink routine, alternating with water and other unsweetened beverages. If you prefer not to drink large amounts of liquid late at night, have it earlier in the evening or make a smaller cup. For variety, combine it with lemon, ginger, berries, honey or other herbs, but keep additions simple if you want to preserve the clean peppermint taste.

If you have ongoing digestive complaints or other pronounced symptoms, do not rely on peppermint tea as a substitute for professional advice.
