Does the soap moisturize, or do I still need a body lotion after washing?

No, the soap will not moisturize in the way a lotion or body cream does. Its main job is to cleanse: it binds to oil, sweat and impurities so they can be rinsed away. The reason it feels less drying than some other soaps is the glycerin in the formula. Glycerin is a humectant — it helps attract and hold moisture on the surface of the skin. That can make the washing process feel gentler and prevent that tight, squeaky-clean feeling that harsher bars can leave behind.

After rinsing, expect the skin to feel clean, refreshed and only lightly scented. The pomegranate and raspberry extracts contribute to the fruity note but are not intended to treat dry skin. If you are used to body washes that leave a slippery, moisturised feel, this soap will feel different — it is a rinse-off cleanser, and the fresh feeling comes from clean skin, not from a lotion layer. If your skin tends to be very dry or easily irritated, it is sensible to apply a hand or body cream after washing, and particularly after showering with warmer water. The soap is a cleansing product, not a substitute for your usual moisturising routine.
