Which areas of the body is this mat suitable for, and are there areas where it is better not to use it? — Massage Mat 6.2 Ag 560 × 290 mm – Lyapko

The 560 × 290 mm size makes it possible to cover large areas at once: the lower back, the upper back or both feet at the same time. It is for such areas that the mat is most often used — lying on the back or standing on it with the feet.

Besides the back and feet, the mat is applied to the thighs, calves and other muscle areas after physical exertion or long periods of sitting. In these cases it is convenient to apply it to the required area while lying or sitting, without having to lay the mat on the floor.

Areas to avoid:

  • The face and neck — the skin here is thin and sensitive, and proximity to major blood vessels calls for caution.
  • Areas with damaged skin: cuts, abrasions, inflammation, rashes — contact of the needles with such areas is undesirable.
  • Areas with varicose veins or marked vascular disorders — consult a doctor before use.
  • The abdomen during pregnancy — this is a separate contraindication that requires mandatory agreement with a specialist.

A needle pitch of 6.2 mm makes the mat fairly comfortable for large muscle groups, but on bony prominences (shoulder blades, spine, ribs) the pressure may feel sharper. In such places you can place a thin cloth underneath or simply adjust the position of the body so that the main load falls on muscle tissue.
