Which wounds is the OLKO 6 x 10 cm plaster suitable for, and which is it not?

OLKO HAAVAPLAASTER 6 x 10 cm is suitable for small superficial injuries: shallow cuts, grazes and scratches, that is, situations where the skin is broken but the wound does not require medical attention. The 6 x 10 cm format is handy precisely when a standard narrow strip plaster does not cover the injured area with enough margin at the edges, for example with a graze on the knee, elbow or forearm.

The plaster is not intended for the following situations:

• Deep wounds: cuts in which deeper layers of tissue are visible need to be examined by a specialist rather than covered with a plaster at home.
• Heavy bleeding: if the wound is bleeding actively and does not stop within a few minutes of direct pressure, medical help is needed.
• Signs of inflammation or infection: increasing redness, swelling, warmth around the wound or a discharge of pus are signals to see a doctor rather than to keep using the plaster.
• A reaction to the adhesive or the impregnation: if the skin around the plaster turns red, itches or a rash appears, stop using it.

Before applying the plaster, it is recommended to rinse the wound with clean water to remove dirt. The plaster is then fixed over it: its absorbent cellulose pad with an antiseptic impregnation sits directly over the injured area, and the adhesive edges stick to the surrounding healthy skin.
