The basis of the product is hydrolysed collagen: collagen broken down into short peptides that dissolve more easily in liquid. Collagen is a structural protein found in joints, tendons, ligaments, bone tissue and skin.

Vitamin C has been added to it — it is involved in the body's own natural collagen synthesis, so combining the two in one product makes sense.

The formula is rounded out with ingredients traditionally used in joint and connective-tissue supplements:

• Glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate — widely known components of cartilage tissue, often found in joint mobility supplements.
• MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) — a source of organic sulfur, important for the structure of connective tissue.
• Hyaluronic acid — holds water in tissues; in supplements it is chosen in the context of comfortable joint movement.
• Boswellia (Boswellia serrata) — a plant resin with a long history of use in Ayurvedic practice; today it is included in many flexibility and mobility blends.
• Calcium and magnesium — minerals important for bone tissue and normal muscle function.
• Zinc and manganese — involved in the processes that form connective-tissue structures.
