What does this complex contain, and what are the individual ingredients for?

The ALG PHARMA multivitamin formula contains 12 vitamins and 5 minerals, which can be grouped by area of action.

Energy metabolism and the nervous system. The B vitamins — biotin, B1, B6 and B12 (as cyanocobalamin) — are involved in how the body uses nutrients to produce energy. They are also linked to the normal functioning of the nervous system.

Immune system. Vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid), zinc (as zinc gluconate) and selenium are three nutrients that the immune system needs to function normally.

Cell protection. Vitamin E helps protect cells from oxidative stress — a process in which unstable molecules can damage cell structures.

Oxygen and muscles. Iron, in the form of ferrous fumarate, is involved in oxygen transport. Magnesium is included as magnesium citrate — a form often chosen in supplements for the nervous system and muscles.

Vitamin D3. Present as cholecalciferol — the most common form of vitamin D in supplements.

Important: if you already take iron, vitamin D, magnesium or other vitamin and mineral complexes separately, add up the total doses so as not to exceed the recommended amounts.
