What does the “AVATUD KARP” (open box) marking mean for this knee support? — Kneerest (OPEN BOX) 513b-2

AVATUD KARP translated from Estonian means “open box”. Such a marking usually indicates that the item is sold with opened or damaged packaging, while the item itself may be in perfect order.

The reasons can differ: the box could have been opened for inspection, opened on return or crushed in transport. This generally has nothing to do with the condition of the support itself.

Before first use it makes sense to calmly inspect the item:

• check the integrity of the elastic material and seams;
• make sure there are no snags, tears or signs of wear;
• check that the elastic keeps its tension and fits evenly.

If the support looks intact and clean, opened packaging doesn't affect its function. If you do notice defects in the material, it's better not to use such an item to support a joint.
