What does a 7:1 extract mean, and how does it differ from ordinary cordyceps powder?

The figure 7:1 is a concentration ratio: 7 parts of the original mushroom are used to obtain 1 part of extract. In other words, each capsule contains more of the natural compounds of cordyceps than an equivalent amount of ordinary powder made from dried mushroom.

Ordinary powder is simply ground raw material without further processing. An extract, by contrast, goes through a process of extracting the active substances, which makes it possible to concentrate what the mushroom contains in a smaller volume: polysaccharides, nucleosides and other natural compounds. It is these substances that are studied in the context of immune function, energy metabolism and the body's adaptation to exertion.

For the consumer, this means there is no need to take a large number of capsules to get a comparable content of active components. The capsule format also removes the need to prepare infusions or handle powder — which is convenient with a busy schedule.

It is important to understand that a concentrated extract is not a stimulant with a quick effect. Cordyceps is traditionally taken in courses, and its effect is cumulative and gradual.
