What should you do if you feel discomfort in your mouth after using the toothpaste? — Toothpaste "Family", 150 g – Classic

Essential oils are active ingredients, and in people with sensitive mucous membranes or a tendency to react to such substances they sometimes cause a burning or tingling sensation or gum irritation. This does not mean the toothpaste is of poor quality — it simply means this formula does not suit everyone.

If after the first few uses you notice:

  • pronounced irritation or redness of the gums;
  • a burning sensation that does not go away within a few minutes after brushing;
  • noticeable discomfort that recurs with every use —

stop using this toothpaste and choose a milder option without essential oils or with a lower menthol content. If the irritation persists, it is best to consult a dentist to rule out other causes.

A slight tingle from the mint in the first few seconds after application is a normal reaction to menthol; it passes quickly and is not a sign of irritation. Go by how your mouth feels 5–10 minutes after brushing.
