What does the combination of turpentine and camphor do, and how does this balm differ from an ordinary warming gel?

Turpentine, the main active ingredient, stimulates the skin's receptors when applied, producing a local irritant effect: blood flow to the surface increases and a pronounced feeling of warmth appears. Camphor complements this effect in a different way: it creates a feeling of lightness and relaxation in tense areas, slightly softening the intensity of the warming. Fir oil adds a fresh coniferous scent that makes the procedure more pleasant.

The key difference from light warming gels lies in the texture of the base. Cocoa butter, wax and petroleum jelly form a dense, slowly absorbed base that:

  • keeps the active substances on the skin longer, preventing them from evaporating quickly;
  • makes massage movements easier — the balm glides over the skin without rolling off straight away;
  • additionally softens the skin in the area of application.

This makes the rub balm format particularly convenient for massage: the warming effect builds up gradually rather than instantly, as it does with sprays or liquid formulas. If you prefer less intense warming, start with a small amount of the product.
