Iron comes in different forms: tablets, capsules, chewable pastilles and liquid vials. Each has its own characteristics.
In drinkable vials, the iron is already dissolved in a liquid base, while the folic acid and vitamin B12 are in a dry part in the vial cap — such a vial does not need to be washed down with a lot of water or chewed. This is convenient for those who have difficulty swallowing large tablets, as well as for people with a sensitive stomach for whom it matters that a supplement is well tolerated.
In this product, iron is present as bisglycinate — a compound with the amino acid glycine. This form is often chosen precisely for its gentle effect on the digestive tract compared with some other iron compounds (for example, sulfate). The liquid base with apple juice and fructose also softens the taste, which matters to many people when taking a course.
The format of individual 10 ml vials is convenient when travelling or at work: there is no need to count out tablets or carry a large pack with you. A vial is easy to take along and can be taken at any time without any extra equipment.
At the same time, liquid forms usually require more careful storage and have a limited shelf life after opening — it is worth checking this on the packaging.
