How does ginseng differ from eleutherococcus in this drink – why both at once?

Ginseng and eleutherococcus are often grouped into one category because both are traditionally used to support performance and tone. However, each of them has its own reputation in herbal medicine.

  • Ginseng is one of the best-studied plant adaptogens. It is traditionally valued for its influence on concentration and on mental and physical performance. It is considered to be stronger in its action.
  • Eleutherococcus (often called "Siberian ginseng") is generally described as a milder stimulant. It is often chosen in seasons when you want resilience to strain without a sharp stimulating effect.

Combining two adaptogens in one formula is a common approach in the production of tonic drinks and supplements: they are assumed to complement each other. According to the label, 15 ml of the drink contains 1250 mg of ginseng and 750 mg of eleutherococcus (plus 600 mg of ginger extract), and the dose is 15 ml a day.

If you have an individual sensitivity to one of these plants or take other adaptogens at the same time, it makes sense to check compatibility with a specialist.
