Black cumin oil (Nigella sativa) comes in two main formats — liquid and capsules. Both contain the same raw material, with its natural fatty acid profile and accompanying substances, including thymoquinone.
The practical differences of capsules:
Dosing. Each capsule contains a fixed amount of oil (230 mg), so there is no need to measure it out with a spoon or keep track of the amount.
Taste and smell. Black cumin oil has a characteristic spicy, slightly bitter taste that not everyone likes. The capsule takes care of this — the contents do not come into contact with your taste buds.
Convenience when travelling. Capsules are easy to take with you, without worrying about leaks or having to store an open bottle.
Storage. An opened bottle of oil needs to be kept under the right conditions and used within a certain time. Capsules in a blister pack or a tightly closed bottle are generally less demanding in terms of storage during the day.
If you already take omega complexes or other sources of fatty acids in capsules and want to add black cumin oil to the same routine, the capsule format fits logically into that regimen.
