A gel balm sits halfway between a cream and a gel: it is not as thick and greasy as a nourishing cream, but not as watery as a refreshing gel either. As a result, it spreads quickly over the skin in a thin layer and leaves no filmy or slippery feeling — which matters if you need to put on socks or go to bed straight after applying it.
The manufacturer recommends using it in the evening, which makes sense: the components have time to work overnight, and at that time the feet are not under load or subject to friction from shoes. Apply it to clean, dry skin: leftover moisture between the toes reduces the effectiveness of the antiperspirant components. Pay particular attention to the spaces between the toes — this is where moisture builds up and discomfort most often occurs.
Use only a small amount: the gel balm works in a thin layer, and applying more does not increase the effect but may take longer to absorb. If the skin on your feet is very dry or rough, it makes sense to alternate this product with a richer cream — they do different jobs and do not duplicate each other.
