How does this cream differ from an ordinary moisturising body lotion? — Concentrated Body & Hand Lotion for Dry and Atopic Skin “ATOPY SKIN”, 400 ml - Vitateka
Most ordinary body lotions contain mainly moisturising components — glycerin, water, light oils — and are intended for skin without marked barrier problems. This cream is built differently: its Atopy Skin formula combines several classes of active substances with different tasks.
Moisturising is provided by urea, glycerin and sodium hyaluronate — they work at different levels: urea additionally helps soften rough areas, while glycerin and hyaluronate hold water in the skin.
Barrier restoration is the task of triglycerides and cottonseed oil, which are structurally close to the skin's own lipids. Ordinary lotions often contain lighter mineral oils or silicones, which form a film but do not replenish the lipid deficit.
Reducing discomfort is the role of panthenol and allantoin. These components help reduce burning, tightness and roughness, which is especially important when the barrier is weakened.
In addition, the composition includes a complex of birch bark and figwort extracts (betulin, betulinic acid, iridoids) and vitamin E as an antioxidant. This combination makes the cream more suitable for skin that regularly experiences stress from external factors, rather than simply needing light moisturising after a shower.
