Saline sprays work by means of an aqueous solution: they moisturise the mucosa quickly, but the effect is short-lived — the liquid evaporates or runs off. FARMAKOM Ninatilgad Pehme works differently: its petrolatum base forms a thin protective layer on the surface of the mucosa, which physically slows down moisture loss. This is not instant moisturising but longer-lasting softening.
This texture is especially relevant when the air stays dry for a long time: the heating season, a long flight, an office where the air conditioning is constantly running. In these conditions, frequent use of a water-based spray can be inconvenient, whereas a denser formula lasts longer between applications.
The composition also contains calendula extract and chamomile — ingredients traditionally used in products for sensitive mucous membranes — while eucalyptus oil creates a feeling of freshness and subjectively makes breathing easier. Vitamin E additionally softens and helps stabilise the formula.
It is important to understand that this is a cosmetic product, not a medicine. It is not intended to treat nasal congestion, rhinitis or other conditions — its sole purpose is comfort and softening of the mucosa in dry air.
