How does this ointment differ from an ordinary moisturising cream, and when is it chosen instead?

Most moisturising creams contain water and substances that hold it in the upper layers of the skin. The LOODU ointment is built fundamentally differently: it contains no water — only rapeseed oil, spruce wood extract, beeswax and alcohol. Such a composition creates a dense occlusive layer on the surface of the skin, which reduces the evaporation of moisture rather than adding it from outside.

This means that the ointment works best when the skin needs protection from external factors — wind, frost, dry air — rather than extra moisturising as such. It is convenient to apply to areas that are regularly exposed to mechanical stress or weather: rough heels, cracked knuckles, the skin of the hands after working outdoors.

A cream with a light texture is absorbed quickly and suits the daily care of large areas. The ointment is a more targeted tool: according to the label, a small amount is applied to clean skin 2–3 times a day or as needed, where a dense protective layer is required, and it stays on the surface for longer. Because of its dense texture and the smell of the resin, it is not usually used as a replacement for a body cream.

The small volume of 15 ml is convenient for exactly this kind of spot use — to keep in a pocket or bag and use as the situation requires.
