Can you fry with Specialist cedar nut oil?

No, Specialist cedar nut oil is not suitable for frying or other heat treatment. It is an unrefined product: high temperatures change its taste and destroy the natural nutty aroma for which it is chosen in the first place. This is why the manufacturer does not recommend heating it.

The best way to use it is to add it to dishes that are already cooked: salads, porridge, warm vegetables after cooking, cottage cheese. A small amount of oil added at the end preserves the product's full flavour profile and texture. For frying, it is better to choose refined oils with a high smoke point, such as sunflower oil, coconut oil or ghee.

Cedar nut oil works well as a finishing touch: drizzle it over a finished dish, mix it with lemon juice and herbs for a homemade dressing or add it to porridge before serving. This is how its characteristic rich nutty flavour comes through.
