Can this cream actually improve brittle nails and rough cuticles, or is it just marketing for the nail claim? — Moisturizing and nourishing cream for hands and nails 300ml
The nail-related benefit comes from two specific ingredients: hydrolysed keratin and hydrolysed elastin. "Hydrolysed" means these proteins have been broken into smaller fragments so they can spread evenly over the skin and nail surface rather than sitting on top as a heavy film. Hydrolysed keratin is described as "particularly relevant for brittle nails and rough cuticle zones, as it helps coat and smooth the nail plate area." This coating action can make nails look less parched and feel less prone to snagging, and it can soften the look of ragged cuticle skin. Hydrolysed elastin is included "for a more supple, conditioned feel" on the skin around the nails.
What this does not do: it does not change the internal structure of the nail, accelerate growth, or "repair" damage at a biological level. The effect is cosmetic — a smoothing, conditioning film that reduces the rough sensation and improves appearance while the product is on the skin. For best results, apply a small amount directly onto the nail plate and massage into the cuticles after washing hands and before bed, when you won't immediately wash it off. If nails are splitting deeply, peeling in layers, or you see discoloration, those are signs to consult a dermatologist or podiatrist rather than rely on a cosmetic cream alone.
