VITATEKA Glütseriin (Taimne) is 100% vegetable glycerin, a clear and odourless cosmetic ingredient. Glycerin is a humectant, meaning it binds water and helps hold moisture in the upper layers of the skin. This is why it is often added to creams, lotions, gels, toners, masks, soaps and cleansers.
For most uses, it is better not to apply pure glycerin on its own. Because it binds water very effectively, undiluted glycerin can feel sticky and, for some people, may create a temporary feeling of tightness. A more comfortable approach is to add a few drops to a portion of body lotion, hand cream, foot cream, toner, gel or mask shortly before application, then mix it well in your palm or in a small clean container.
It can be especially useful when your skin feels dry after washing or during colder months, when creams may need a little extra humectant support. Start with a small amount so you can judge the texture: if the product becomes tacky, you have likely added more glycerin than your skin prefers. Apply only externally, avoid the eye area unless your formula is designed for that use, and patch test first if your skin is very sensitive.
