Not on the same area at the same time unless you know your skin tolerates the combination. This formula pairs 1% salicylic acid with alcohol, which is already active on the skin. Applying a retinoid, another exfoliating acid or a harsh scrub on top of it can easily over-strip the skin and cause irritation.

If you want to include those products in your routine, do it on separate days, or apply them to different body areas. For example, use this tonic on your back one day and your retinol product on your face another day, rather than layering them on the same spot in one session. If you are just starting with this product, pausing your other exfoliants for a week or two can help you see what effect it has on its own.

Watch for signs of over-exfoliation: stinging, tightness, redness, peeling, or a burning feeling. If any of these appear, reduce the frequency, skip other exfoliants, or stop using the product on that area until the skin returns to normal.
