Freshly lightened hair has an open cuticle and high porosity, so any direct dye — including tinted shampoos — will deposit far more pigment than on settled hair. The Light Titian shade could turn a vivid copper-orange instead of a refined titian glow. Most colourists recommend waiting 48–72 hours (and ideally one regular wash with a gentle, pH-balancing shampoo) before introducing any toning or tinted product. During that window, focus on hydration: use a deep conditioner or bond-repair mask to help the cuticle close. When you do use the tinted shampoo for the first time post-bleach, do a strand test (see above) and start with the shortest leave-on time — 2 minutes is often enough. If the tone is still too strong, dilute the shampoo 1:1 with your regular colour-care shampoo in your palm before applying. This halves the pigment concentration while keeping the cleansing benefit.
