This massage oil contains two main groups of ingredients. The plant oil complex forms a thin emollient layer and is generally gentle for body skin, while green tea extract (Camellia sinensis) brings polyphenols such as catechins and EGCG, tannins, and naturally occurring alkaloids. These substances are appreciated for a refreshing, lightly toning sensation on the skin, but herbal extracts can be too stimulating for a small percentage of people, especially those with very reactive skin. The product description itself advises pausing use if irritation or an allergic reaction appears and recommends a patch test for reactive skin or for professional procedures.
A patch test is the most practical way to check your personal tolerance. Apply a small amount of oil to a 2–3 cm area on the inside of your forearm, leave it uncovered for 24 hours, and inspect the area for redness, itching, burning or a rash. Do not perform the test on damaged, sunburnt or broken skin. If no reaction appears, it is reasonable to start using the oil on the body, but still avoid the eye area and do not massage it into irritated or wounded skin.
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a chronic skin condition or are taking medication, consult a specialist before using a product with botanical extracts, even though they are common cosmetic ingredients. This oil is for external use only and is not intended to diagnose, treat or prevent any disease. Stop using it at the first sign of discomfort—sensitivity can appear after several uses, not only on the first one.
